Hello! I live in the Netherlands and I would like to buy a laptop. The problem I have now is:
How do I buy a laptop without buying a WinXP license? There are loads of pages about (Dell|Acer|HP|etc) compatibility but almost no practical info about evading "MS tax". I could find this ""Early results of the (Dutch) Windows refund survey"" http://lxer.com/module/newswire/view/49036/index.html, but nothing about the actual findings. Most links to "linux laptops" shops end up at german language only sites that actually have WinXP as "default" install.
