I tried :
apt-get remove kde*
apt-install kdebase
but unfortunately it's not working.
I use etch and kde is 3.5.1.
If the problem is due to a screwed-up configuration file, you might need
to use "apt-get --purge remove kde*" to get rid of it before you reinstall.
