Hi Mike, there is a debian-amd64 port. so 99% of what you want will work. BUT THERE ARE EXCEPTION that have not made the jump to 64bit and need to be run in a 32bit chroot. here are a few: win32codecs-any multimedia apps that use this will not work in 64 bits OpenOffice is still not 64bit. there may be others. ask here or on the amd 64 port site http://alioth.debian.org/docman/view.php/30192/21/debian-amd64-howto.html would be good to read. cheers, Kev Hi As far as openoffice, there is a port in amd 64 there: http://people.debian.org/~rene/openoffice.org/2.0.3/amd64/ And you can run , I guess, all 32 bits apps if you install 32 bits libraries, or in a chroot Thierry
