Downgrading is not supported by debian. One way to circumvent this is to purge/remove the package/ a couple of packages and reinstalling them. If this doesn't work due to dependencies, you're gonna have some problems.

If it's a lot that has to be fixed and you can't figure it out, one clean way would be to save your package selection status and to do a fresh install...
