I can't remember what exactly, but it was something minor like attempting to remove the disc too quickly for reboot. I just had to do the install again, be patient, and it worked. It didn't happen on a complicated install, just a standard all-on-one one hard disc, end-user box. Grub just didn't seem to 'take' for some reason. Regards,
