man aptitude:

   -d, --download-only
          Download packages to the package cache as necessary, but do not
install
          or remove anything. By default, the package cache is stored
 in
          /var/cache/apt/archives.

          This corresponds to the configuration option
Aptitude::CmdLine::Down-
          load-Only.
