gah. I don't even know what a framebuffer is! Video drivers are nvidia v.
1.0.4349-1. xserver is:
        XFree86 Version 4.2.1.1 (Debian 4.2.1-8 20030609132746
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]) / X Window System
        (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)

And my config file is at:
http://xtrinsic.com/geek/config/XF86Config-4.txt

In xconfig:
        Console Drivers
                  [*] VGA text console
                  [*] Video mode selection support
                  < > MDA text console (dual-headed) (EXPERIMENTAL)
                  Frame-buffer support  --->   NOT SET!
