"People" are generally not taught that it is the prevention of prices and wages from correcting that is causing they (and their families) to be hungry and tossed out of their homes. That's the fatal flaw of government-sponsored education. One of the hallmarks of the "New Deal" was the destruction of vast quantities of food supposedly for the purpose of "keeping prices up". If people were hungry, how would a decrease in price and increase in quantity of food have been anything but a good thing? But this ignores the fact that the Great Depression was caused by government. America's Great Depression, Murray N. Rothbard (free online) http://www.mises.org/rothbard/agd/contents.asp It is also so completely off topic that I will be glad if anyone asks but otherwise I'll leave this alone now.
