Assuming that you didn't configure X way out of the AT25's specs in the first place, there are two probable causes for this: 1: your bios settings are 'hotrodded all out' , e.g. PCI and RAM settings 'optimized' 2: your video-card's RAM and/or RAMDAC doesn't live up to what you would expect (they never do on these cards) I had exactly these problems on a Diamond video something card w/AT25 chip a few years ago. These are 'generic' problems that will exist independent of OS or driver, it's in the hardware. > I am using Xfree 4 with a 15 inch monitor and a alliance promotion AT25 > graphics card, I am using the amp driver. > > Can anyone think of anything I can do? > - Try first to use standard bios settings for pci an RAM, if this doesn't help back down your settings for resolution and/or repeat frequency in small decrements and stop at the point where messy pixels no longer appear. AFAIR, I could use the card for 1024x768x8Bit color @ 70 or 72 HZ before things went messy - alternatively, get a Matrox pci card at ebay and use the AT25 as an ice-scraper for your cars windshield next winter ;-) > Thanks, > > PW -- regards, jochen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
