-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list,
I have been working around this situation for a while, but it is sometimes very annoying. Here is the problem. I am brazilian, but hate brazilian ABNT2 keyboards, and have had a US one for many years. Since always, I have typed ´ + c (accute accent + c) to produce a c with a cedilla. There has been a point in GTK development, though, when the default character for this sequence has turned to a c with an accute accent. I have read some fervorous discussions of a brazilian user with a GTK dev about this, and the dev states that ´+c should logically output a c with an accute accent, and that producing a c-cedilla is not that obvious for this sequence. In my opinion, the guy does have a point. But it is still very annoying. In some GTK apps, I can get a context menu with an 'Input method' option, where I can choose 'Cedilla' and voilà! It works! But only for that app, and only until I close it. Soooo, my question is: is there a way I can set my DEFAULT input method to this cedilla thing, and never have to worry about accenting a c again? Obs: I run two systems. One is pure lenny, and the other is lenny/sid (although I am trying to keep it lenny only). I do appreciate any insights on this matter. Cheers!
