If I'm not mistaken though that problem was corrected. My lenny box does have libc6-i686 now and I have no problems with aptitude. Is your mirror up to date?
I assume that ftp.us.debian.org is up to date :) I just updated yesterday and aptitude kept becoming unresponsive. I'll remove the library and see what happens. Patrick
