See > man formail. You are right. I did spend some time with the man pages, but I didn't realize the power of the header manipulation options. It is indeed possible to manually force a specific header onto the digest parts, either by directly specifying it with [aAiI], or possibly by extracting it with [xX] and then adding it with the previous options. I'm not sure how to do the latter without some sort of variable assignment, but the former is sufficient in any event.
