Install dnsmasq on the box that connects to the internet and leave its /etc/hosts file as is, or add to it when you add a box. On the other boxes, remove the network lines from /etc/hosts so that only the localhost line remains. Then, you need each box to treat the main box as a nameserver. Unfortunatly, there are several ways to do this in Debian. There's the lines in /etc/network/interface that works with the resolvconf package or you just edit the /etc/resolv.conf file per the man page. If you want to assign IPs dyanamically, dnsmasq is also a DHCP server and can handle that too. Doug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
