Yes, I mean software RAID.

Any *helpful* suggestions?

Oh, Helpful suggestions!

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid1] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4]
md0 : active raid1 hdg6[0] hdh6[1]
     76613888 blocks [2/2] [UU]

So, since I have mdadm installed and I am running raid1, the cat results in listing raid6 as a possible "Personality" I would say it works just fine. YMMV. Try it.
