joule:~# COLUMNS=120 dpkg -l | grep fetchmail ii fetchmail 6.3.6-1etch1 SSL enabled POP3, APOP, IM AP mail gatherer/forwarder rFR fetchmailconf 6.3.6-1etch1 fetchmail configurator joule:~# r = (Desired=Remove) F = (Status=Failed-config) R = (Err?=Reinst-required) which is roughly consistent with information from apt-get and from dselect. Imagination suggests, dpkg --force-things remove-reinstreq fetchmailconf Then install it again with dselect and purge with dselect.
