Hi! This is a call for testing of alevt 1.9.2-1, a Teletext/Video text browser. If you are already an alevt user, or if you have TV hardware capable of videotext (DVB or V4L), test reports using this version are highly appreciated. Please also report successes, and include information on the TV hardware and distribution version you tested with.
This version has the following patches applied (besides minor tweaks): * DVB-T Support (Patch from <http://pluto.blackbone-ev.de/v1/AleVT mit DVB-T.html>) * Russian (koi8-r) and Greek (iso8859-7) charset and font support (forward-ported from the patch in the contrib/ directory of upstream release) alevt 1.9.2-1 has been uploaded to Debian experimental; see [0] for instructions regarding using experimental, or download and install the package "manually" from [1]. [0] http://wiki.debian.org/DebianExperimental [1] http://packages.debian.org/experimental/alevt The packages probably also work on Debian 5.0 (lenny) and recent Ubuntu releases. For people not running Debian or a derivative, I have prepared a tarball at [2] that has the same set of patches applied; just run "make" and run the binaries out of the source directory (no need to install).
