Why does Debian (Squeeze) not work well with ATI /AMD Radeon HD cards? I had to edit the /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf in order to prevent the fideo output being turned off during bootup but even then the graphics performance is unusable.
Im not sure what driver is being used as I dont know how to check but CentOS on the same machine doesnt have any of these problems. Whats the difference?
