Several folks were having difficulty with the nvidia-glx package breaking others. The problem has now been corrected in testing. I installed nvidia-glx (which brought in all the necessary dependencies), restored my xorg.conf (which I had moved out of the way when temporarily using the nv driver), and am now happily using the nvidia drivers again!
