Ok, so I do indeed have an "ssh" server, and I am able to ssh into my ISP's shell account. However, I can not ssh over to my linux box. In other words, I can get out but not in.

Easy!

 # apt-get install openssh-server

That is all that you need to do.  The server will be configured and
started automatically.
