The IMM is the Integrated Management Module, probably the same thing as the RSA (Remote Supervisor Adapter?) - I might have got the wrong term for your server. I'd have a look in the grub config, to see what console parameters, if any, are passed to the kernel - probably the 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX' variable in /etc/default/grub.
