Hello! I have some problem when I'm trying to add an extra IP to an interface.
My config: # cat /etc/network/interfaces auto lo auto eth0 auto eth0:0 auto eth0:1 iface lo inet loopback allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1 iface eth0:0 inet static address 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 iface eth0:1 inet static address 192.168.0.101 netmask 255.255.255.0 #ifconfig eth0:0 up SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address The strange thing is that sometimes works, sometimes not. if I do this way, it works every time: #ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 What cause the SIOCSIFFLAGS error messaeg?
