Good day Debian users, I have some problems installing Debian on my machine (an efika smartbook, ARM powered [1]). What I have done until now:
1. I downloaded the netinst image for ARMHF arch 2. used Gparted to create a bootable SD and dd'd the image on the SD 3. plugged the SD in the smartbook/ rebooted The machine seems to take longer time at startup (maybe it's recognizing something?), but apart from that, no luck: after a while, I get my usual login screen (the installer does not start). After that failed attempt, I went to the relevant page on the debian wiki [2] (understood little, to be honest) and even opened a thread on the manufacturer's forum [3]. No luck. So I am asking you: did I do something wrong? Is debian installable on such machines via the installer? Does someone with an efika smartbook succesfully install it? I wonder if I should post this in the devel arm-port mailing list. Thanks in advance for your replies Armand [1] http://www.genesi-tech.com/products/smartbook [2] http://wiki.debian.org/EfikaMX [3] http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=17378&sid=#p17378
