Exactly *how* aristocratic?  Not all New Yorkers are from Da Bronx;
they flit around between NYC, Connecticut, Bah Hahba, etc on a 
frequent basis.

The question needs to be whether she is posing, which is lame, or
whether it's in her nature to pick up the accent of the place where
she lives.

For example, when I lived in Acadiana ("Cajun country"), I subcon-
sciously started talking somewhat in that manner, because it's all
I heard every day.
