I was checking back in the list about this issue as I had to downgrade grub2 also. So, if I upgrade to 2.02~beta2-8 (or newer) there shouldn't be any problems. Will report back. Also, this will allow me to forget about this and get my new SSD in the box to do a dirty upgrade/clean install on it (not decided yet).
