I believe by default exim is configured only to handle email local to the system. That's how it works here (squeeze). I use alpine to send directly to my ISP's smtp server (not handing the mail to exim/sendmail--as outlined by Bob in his message). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
