I somehow missed this thread earlier, don't know if it has been
mentioned before but I have been using SSHelper for two years and can
only recommend it. I only start it when I actually need to move data
between the Android devices and the computers running Debian. It
supports key based authentication and is easy to configure, unobtrusive,
and it's free open-source ad-free software. No need to root the device.
