And an update, a reboot got rid of the stale file handle. But on shop.coyote.den, the /home directory can be seen for an ls -l /net/shop, but if an ls -l /net/shop/home is done, its a null return, and if I add gene to /net/shop/home/gene, it doesn't exist. But only on this one machine.. The other two work normally. All have identical auto.master files with "/net -hosts" enabled.
