Why would you want to renumber the partition ? It provides absolutely no benefit and can break things such as the bootloader which may seek data on partitions identified by their numbers.
it can get a situation where the partitions are not in the number orde, and some fdisks complain about that, what may make some people feel uncomfortable, but I now of no case where it matters really.
