best way to go, grab yourself a live image [1] and try it out yourself. Do 
yourself a favour and disable the 920m, it's only some 20-40% faster [2](linux 
numbers may be way off and may favour intel) than the HD 520 and will help you 
only sometimes get something playable - if you game at all, that is. However it 
would suck energy disproportionally, both electrical and mental.

There is no reason to go i386, and you hopefully have at least 4GB RAM, so 
you'd loose out on that if you go i386 => amd64.
