Did the debootstrap invocation produce any errors? A pointer to full output would be useful. Inability to map uid 0 to a username could indicate a problem with /etc/nsswitch.conf or /etc/passwd. Do you have these files inside the chroot? Missing apt-get also seems to indicate that the debootstrap did not go well. Do you have sufficient disk space, etc.? > <snip> -- regards, kushal
