Thank you. Your example reminded me of the error of my
ways or rather syntax.
The , was missing in the following line:
UUID=[] / noatime,errors=remount-ro
0 1
and now everything seems to be quite normal. I tested it by
mount -a
so now I will try a reboot and hope I don't need the rescue disk.
