I think it is (although that path is compliant with the Debian wiki on the matter). On my machine, 'about:plugins' reveals that Firefox-esr searches the following paths for the flash plugin: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so and /home/curty/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so We could always experiment by copying the libflashplayer.so file as indicated above (or merely into you're home directory) and then update-alternatives --quiet --install /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flash-mozilla.so flash-mozilla.so /home/'your user name'/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so However, I will now admit that I'm a little confused about the whole deal. I do not use the flash-installer; I just go to Adobe and extract the libflashplayer.so file from the tar.gz archive and copy it to both /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so and /home/curty/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so. update-alternatives --list flash-mozilla.so returns /home/curty/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/gnash/libgnashplugin.so on my machine.
