On Debian, microcode updates are embedded in the main initrd, not put in a secondary initrd. The /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/intel_microcode script is responsible for adding the appropriate update files, scripts, and tools to the initrd. > 1. Is microcode getting applied?
