Dialing and surfing

Hi,
I'm trying to connect the Internet via a dialup connection. I managed to 
make my connection work with kppp and I can now dial and open a session 
at my ISP's.
I launched Mozilla and can't reach any website. Is it because of 
protection software (firewall, etc.) ? How can I know that and what 
should I try to make things working well ?
