Having looked quickly at the specs for both the PowerEdge C6220 and C6220 II Three issues jump out: 1. Nework cards may need firmware.[Use the DVD with non-free firmware included if you want to make your life easier - just remember to comment out the cdrom entry in /etc/apt/sources.list afterwards.] 2. It's software RAID unless you have an optional RAID card. That should be fine with Linux mdraid. If you've the optional card - it's an LSI ??? 3. BMC ??? - I note that it says that that might need third party software. If you're not planning remote KVM access who cares. https://i.dell.com/sites/csdocuments/Shared-Content_data-Sheets_Documents/en/Dell_PowerEdge_C6220_II_Technical_Guide.pdf was where I got my info from. If you're planning to have it under your desk because you got it cheaply - the fans will howl - that's the problem with small fans and high air throughput. I've only dealt briefly with Dells in a data centre but there's no obvious reason why Debin shouldn't support this completely. All the very best, as ever, Andy Cater 3. If
