Did you also try to start X with startx from a tty ? Can you provide find /etc/ | grep xorg And from your login user grep EE ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.* grep WW ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.* cat ~/.bash_profile cat ~/.xserverrc cat ~/.xsession cat ~/.xsession-errors
