My first thread post did have a bad one:
sudo sed -i 'a/^B_ALLOW_UPDATE/#B_ALLOW_UPDATE/g' /etc/inxi.conf
was supposed to read
sudo sed -i 's/^B_ALLOW_UPDATE/#B_ALLOW_UPDATE/g' /etc/inxi.conf
