The first thing I'll suggest is that you replace
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ with http://deb.debian.org/debian

More to the point, the security URL I have is
http://security.debian.org/debian-security

I'm guessing that that brostrend line came from something in
/etc/apt/sources.d. Sometimes renaming those is a useful debugging
trick.
