My main home PC is 10 years old and still going strong (I over specced it when I bought it). A few years ago I had what looked like disk problems (time outs, failed writes, ...). I replaced the power supply and the problems went away. I have seen this before: some power supplies seem to fade as they age and the symptom is disk failures. Changing the PSU is cheap, quick & easy - consider it. -- Alain Williams Linux/GNU Consultant - Mail systems, Web sites, Networking, Programmer, IT Lecturer. +44 (0) 787 668 0256 https://www.phcomp.co.uk/ Parliament Hill Computers.
