Probable workaround: use Alt + drag_left_mouse_button to move the window downward, then resize the window or close it as you like. Probable workaround 2: use xwininfo to get a window ID, then use xdotool windowsize or xdotool windowmove to resize or move the window as you like. xdotool windowsize can take a percentage of the screen as a resizing argument, so xdotool windowsize <windowID> 90% 90% will get you a window with a 10% border on all sides. -dsr-
