I just did a fresh install of Trixie, the sound is cracling,
stuttering and choppy.
The desktop computer is connected via SPDIF to a soundbar.
In the logs I see:
gsd-media-keys[1906]: Unable to get default sink
gsd-media-keys[1906]: Unable to get default source
I don't think it's related but ..
[1 did not help at all and I don't have fluidsynth installed.
I was wondering if you have any ideas on what to do other than using
Pulseaudio?
Have a look at lists.debian.org/debian-user/2025/10/msg00238.html
et seq. (You don't say what software you did install.)
Cheers,
David.
Thank you for the URL.
I tried to change the two suggested values to no avail. Removing
Pipewire in favor of PA is still on my todo list.
I have installed tasksel: 'desktop', 'ssh-server', 'standard', so I'm on
Gnome Trixie.
Hopefully, you or someone else has some more ideas?
