Hover the mouse pointer to see the name and a brief description. I can't recall the initial panel configuration, but certainly a web browser and email client are among the launchers. > > I would like to remove them permanently, but I cannot find where in > Applications -> Settings they are set up. The Xfce panels are extremely customisable and can be placed on any edge of the screen, resized and can contain whatever launchers you want. I have one on the left side containing about ten launchers and the full applications menu, one on the right showing sound and network control launchers, cpu activity and the open applications. I do have a third small panel just containing a clock which gets moved around according to what else is on the screen. Some people do prefer not to use a desktop environment, just a window manager, having a blank screen which produces various menus on right-clicking, but I use the panels considerably and would not wish to do without them. They can be hidden and only appear when the mouse pointer approaches them. -- Joe
