Hi,To whom is may concern,I am writing this email to ask Debian crew to please
release an official Debian ISO with the v6.18.2 Kernel.Right now Debian
official release only has Kernel v6.12.x And it's way too old.Linus Torvalds
and his team released Kernel v6.18.2 LTS,So I am asking the Debian team to
please release Debian ISO with the latest LTS kernel which is v6.18.2,so many
of us Linux users can benefit from the newest features & support that Kernel
v6.18.2 has.I currently am forced to manually compile and build the kernel from
scratch in order to have it.Caveats: To my knowledge, Yes I know I won’t get
Debian-packaged kernels with APT updates and updates must be done manually.
Proprietary drivers (e.g., NGreedia) or DKMS modules might need recompiling.
Which is a headache for those on NGreedia. I am on AMD GPU RX-7900XTX, so it
doesn't matter much, for the time being. If Secure Boot is enabled, people may
need to sign the kernel. For those who have it on. This is why I am asking for
Debian to be more up to date and release Debian 13 trixie with v6.18.2 LTS.BTW,
Now since i manually built the v6.18.2 LTS, my drivers and audio card works,
unlike before with v6.12.xThank you for your time and consideration in this
matter.Best Regards,A Linux User.
