Finally I decided this warrants scratching a longstanding itch:
hosting my mail. So here I'm using my new toy, a 'free' email account
that cost me lots of headache to set up :)
So, now I discovered titan mail had switched the spam security on my
account to "High". Not sure when that changed, but I had a large number
of non spam email in my spam folder from the last 30 days. Unfortunately
they do not keep spam longer than 30 days. Possibly changing that in the
first place would have saved me lots of grief and allowed me to
communicate on debian-user list. I have no idea when that changed, I
recall switching that spam filter off just a few months ago.
The easy fix: In case anyone finding this in the future, has similar
problems. Check you spam filter settings with your mail provider!
At any rate, this whole mess resulted in what I wanted for a while: a
self hosted secure mail server, albeit on a (Debian) vps. Now to get my
t-bird GPG keys back. I accidentally lost them while reinstalling my
pc's Debian os. Pretty sure I have a backup of that, just need to dig
into it.
