Subject: I have discovered that Kaspersky Rescue Disk is based on Debian 12

Good day from Singapore,

I have discovered that Kaspersky Rescue Disk is based on Debian 12. Please see
below.

root@krd2024:/home/krd# uname -a
Linux krd2024 6.1.0-28-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.119-1
(2024-11-22) x86_64 GNU/Linux
root@krd2024:/home/krd# cat /etc/os-release
PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)"
NAME="Debian GNU/Linux"
VERSION_ID="12"
VERSION="12 (bookworm)"
VERSION_CODENAME=bookworm
ID=debian
HOME_URL="https://www.debian.org/";
SUPPORT_URL="https://www.debian.org/support";
BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.debian.org/";
root@krd2024:/home/krd#

As of 12 March 2026 Thursday at 7.30 pm Singapore Time, bootable Kaspersky
Rescue Disk USB thumb drive reported "No Threats Detected" in my Windows 11
Home Edition home desktop computer.

The following items were selected and clicked in Kaspersky Rescue Tool:

(1) Windows 11 x64

(a) Fileless objects
(b) Startup objects
(c) System drive

(2)

(a) Boot sectors
(b) Efi boot objects

Scan completed in 01:22:53

A total of 2447298 objects were scanned.

Scan results: No Threats Detected

Debian Linux is rock solid and superb. It is used as the foundation/building
block of Kaspersky Rescue Disk antivirus scanner.

Thank you Debian!
