Thanks for forwarding your reply — I'm no expert on printing.

AFAICT this model doesn't have wireless connectivity. The specs:

say  Wireless capability No, and a picture of the carton:

shows only USB.

That said, there is a driver at:
  https://www.openprinting.org/printer/HP/HP-LaserJet_P1006
which claims to run this printer. The package in trixie is
printer-driver-foo2zjs. (I don't run sid.)
