This doesn't appear to be relevant to what we're discussing -- this is
how to configure what syslog messages systemd will save for a service.
We are instead talking about:

1. how systemd handles processes resulting from an interactive user login
e.g., can someone help us understand what a user session or slice is?
and how unit / session settings impact them?

2. for processes that aren't services managed by systemd that result
from these logins, how are they managed on shutdown / reboot?
e.g. can someone help us understand how debian specifically is
configured or to kill these processes?

Thanks,
Dan
