The Debian project also has a code of conduct which also applies to this mailing list, and that code of conduct is pretty similar to what one would find in a typical software repository. So I think your views on codes of conduct are not only at odds with mine but also with those of Debian at large. The CONTRIBUTING.md in question does also have a "Code of Conduct" section at the end which makes me wonder if you did even read that far.
