If your graphical environment (since you're almost certainly running with one) is based on the X Window System, you want to look at the 'xrandr' command. If it's based on Wayland instead, there's almost certainly some analogous tool, but I don't have enough experience with that stack to be able to say what it might be. (If somehow you're trying to do this in a purely terminal-based environment, with no GUI... that would be interesting, and I have to admit that just offhand I'm not sure of how to do it.
