You already got your answer, but for future reference, you can work this
sort of thing out for yourself a number of ways.

If the file is installed on your syste,, you can use dpkg -S to find
which package owns it:

$ dpkg -S /usr/bin/make
make: /usr/bin/make

Note that this only searches files owned by packages; some packages
generate files like their own configuration, and those files wouldn't be
owned.

To search files in all packages even if they're not installed install
"apt-file". After install it needs an update, and then you can search:

$ apt-file update
[…]
$ apt-file search bin/make
afterstep: /usr/bin/makeastheme
aircrack-ng: /usr/bin/makeivs-ng
atac: /usr/lib/atac/bin/makeplot.pl
ataqv: /usr/bin/make_ataqv_pipeline
bcache-tools: /usr/sbin/make-bcache
cbflib-bin: /usr/bin/makecbf
[…]
# Use a regular expression to anchor the end instead of match
# all sub-strings
$ apt-file search -x 'bin/make$'
make: /usr/bin/make
make-guile: /usr/bin/make

There are more ways to solve this but those are two of the easiest.

Thanks,
Andy
